Brendan Pottie
Since 2019 I've been photographing the kind of days people talk about for years afterwards. That's taken me from vineyard weddings in the Winelands to brand work for Mr South Africa, and most weekends you'll still find me chasing the last twenty minutes of light with a camera in my hand.
What I'm really watching for is the bit between the poses. The laugh that breaks halfway through a formal. The look someone gives when they think nobody's pointing a lens at them. Those are the photographs you'll still be pulling out in twenty years.

Cape Town is home. I photograph weddings right across the city, the Winelands and the West Coast, from vineyard ceremonies in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek to smaller celebrations a few minutes from the sea.
Alongside the wedding work I shoot couple and engagement portraits, beach and swimwear portrait sessions along the Atlantic Seaboard, corporate and brand work through the week, and matric farewells in season.
I travel for shoots, and I like it. Some of my favourite work has come from being somewhere new with a camera, whether that's a farm in the Karoo, a wedding up the coast, or a fortnight in Mauritius. Wherever your day is happening, ask me. Travel is almost never the reason I say no.
